Description
Edith’s samplers have been reproduced using Soie 100.3 from Au Ver à Soie. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC.

The samplers are stitched with cross stitch over two threads of linen, double running stitch, open backstitched herringbone stitch, satin stitch, and long straight stitches. They have been rated as suitable for needleworkers of all abilities.

Only one spool or skein is required when working on 36ct linen and higher. A lower count will require 2 skeins.

Soie 10.3 ~ 681 Soie d’Alger ~ 2922 DMC ~ 321

The models were stitched using Zweigart-based linen that was overdyed to the shade of Just the Ticket by Tabycat Linen. The samplers are suitable for stitching on Aida and linen.

Sampler 1 ~ the design area is 91 stitches (w) x 85 stitches (h). Our calculations include a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

28ct linen: Design: 6.50″ x 6.07″ Fabric: 12.50″ x 12.07″

32ct linen: Design: 5.69″ x 5.31″ Fabric: 11.69″ x 11.31″

36ct linen: Design: 5.06″ x 4.72″ Fabric: 11.06″ x 10.72″

40ct linen: Design: 4.55″ x 4.25″ Fabric: 10.55″ x 10.25″

46ct linen: Design: 3.96″ x 3.70″ Fabric: 9.96″ x 9.70″

56ct linen: Design: 3.25″ x 3.04″ Fabric: 9.25″ x 9.04″



Sampler 2 ~ the design area is 79 stitches (w) x 77 stitches (h). Our calculations include a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

32ct linen: Design: 4.94″ x 4.81″ Fabric: 10.94″ x 10.81″
