Description
Model information:
A gorgeous Quaker Sampler from the Westtown School in Pennsylvania. The School was founded in 1799 by the Religious Society of Friends, the Quakers. This makes Elizabeth‘s sampler one of the earlier pieces from the school. The school is still in operation today. Such elegance and simplicity. The layout of it is very pleasing to the eye as is the Roman-style alphabet that was favored by Quaker schools. There are several samplers similar in style with the cut corner bellflower border that is also found on Ackworth School samplers.

The original sampler was stitched with cotton thread on linen cloth and measured 12.75" H by 10.75" W.

I designed it slightly smaller for 28ct linen. Aida is not recommended because there are several alphabets stitched over one thread.

Stitched Area: 9-3/4 inches (25cm) wide by 11-3/4 inches (29.8cm) high

Fabric Size: 16 inches (40cm) wide 18 inches (45cm) high this includes 3 inches (8cm) allowance on all sides for finishing or framing.

This pattern PDF consists of 16 pages of color and black/white charts.
Thank you and happy stitching!
